50-inch Multitouch Plasma Running Adobe AIR

April 20th, 2010

Kuba Wagner (j4w.cz) and I were recently working on couple simple multi-touch apps for the CS5 Launch in Prague. These apps – developed in Flash CS5/AIR – are running on a brand-new prototype 50-inch multi-touch plasma on Windows 7.

See the sneak peek video. We already have a couple more apps, this is just a taste. Stay tuned for more!!!

btw: total size of this Pong game – 9KB

we also built multitouch devices but only with LCD tv
our last one is a 42″ LCD multi-touch-table. called taluko

turn a plasma tv into a multitouch device is a real “coup de maitre”
    bravo!!!

  5. @Nomari: Thanks! Very good LCD concept. Btw: Why is the response so choppy? Do you have more info about how it’s done? Thx

  6. thanks Tom for the feedback
what do you mean by choppy?

    latency?
we’re not using an ultra powerfull macbook.

Taluko is a 42″ LCD multi-touch-table based on DSI Infrared Technology. We use an open source/cross-platform solution for computer vision and machine sensing released by the Nuigroup community called CCV and We develop specific AS3 APIs and libraries directly connected to CCV through TUIO/OSC/UDP/ protocol

ps: we ‘re not using touchClasses available in CS5

you can get a lot of infos about multitouch here

  7. Yep – I know NUIGROUP. I’ve been developing with TouchLib years ago. I mean not only latency but also the response. While you move – the grid is not very smooth.
