LiveCycle Collaboration Service Pricing

October 21st, 2009

Adobe Flash Collaboration Service (formerly CoCoMo) is now Adobe LiveCycle Collaboration Service

LiveCycle Collaboration Service evolution (LCCS)

LCCS also introduced new pricing model. I am really excited that we are now opening this service as commercially available.

Pricing Model

LCCS has 3 different dimensions that will be metered on a pay-per-use basis:
- Live Stream Bandwidth ($0.49 per GB)
- Push Messages ($0.10 per 1000 messages) – count messages sent in to LCCS
- User Minutes ($0.01 per Hour) – time clients spend connected to LCCS

Read FAQ at LCCS forum for details + Whole FAQ in PDF.
Logically P2P bandwidth is excluded. So when available, you pay nothing!

Free Quota
- For Evaluation/Trial and also for paying customers
- $15 per month will be given everybody using LCCS

freequota-lccs

Basically let me count what it means. With free quota you get monthly (cca):

Videochat scenario ($15)
- 20 GB stream transfer (for $10) + 30000 push messages (for $3) + 200 Hours/8.3 Days (for $2)

Chat/Messaging scenario: ($15)
- 100000 push messages ($10) + 500 Hours/20.83 Days ($5)

Live stream scenario (300 Kbit/s) ($11.44)
- 37.5 KB/s = 2.25 MB/min = 135 MB/hour = 3.240 GB/day
- You get more than 6 days of 24h stream for $10 + $1.44 (spent time fee)

You can see that the model is really flexible and with P2P it gets much cheaper!

I can’t wait to try build my own app and see how much I am going to pay. But remember – more you pay, more customers you have!

Download SDK and go LCCS now!

  2. I liked this pricing model, allows the developer to create a scalable application to the client.
